About us
The Lindauer DORNIER GmbH is an international company in the field of mechanical and plant engineering with around 1,000 employees (including more than 60 trainees). Founded in 1950 by Peter Dornier, son of aviation pioneer Claude Dornier, the family-owned company is now one of the world's technology leaders with its product lines of weaving machines, special machines and composite systems. The company's weaving machines produce clothing, airbags, filters and fabrics made of carbon, glass and aramid. With its special machines division, DORNIER is market leader in engineering and production of film stretching lines for manufacturing plastic films for food, pharmaceutical and care products; they also find application in solar cells, lithium-ion batteries and displays. In the composite systems division, DORNIER creates customized systems for the production of fiber composite components, 3D fabrics and fiber tapes. All machines and systems are manufactured at the production sites in Lindau and Esseratsweiler. The export share is over 90 %.
